Leukemia is aware of the production of normal blood cells, bone marrow and blood diseases. Normal blood cells have a limited period of life, and they need to be new, young cells to replace regularly to continue their activities. There are cell types in mature types of blood cells into the body needs bone marrow (stem cells) within. Under normal circumstances, these stem cells develop into red blood cells, white blood cells or platelets, into a controlled way. Leukemia decidedly troubled the normal development of blood cells and lead to partially developed cells in storage product; it cannot fulfill their roles in the organism inside.

According to the speed of development and chaos persist in judging, where the two types of leukemia: acute leukemia and chronic leukemia. Judged according to the type of stem cells, the effects of chaos, and may be lymphocytic or myelogenous leukemia. Acute leukemia and chronic leukemia stem cells can be different from the levels reached in their development (part of the current anomaly is still trying to develop stem cells and immature cells similar to or completely, normal white blood cells).
